Manastash Lake And The Cane Fishing Pole

Looking down on Manastash Lake

I’ve fished Manastash Lake many times over the last several years. Located in Kittitas County, it is a favorite for fishing, hiking, and ORV enthusiasts. I have always been there to catch the Brook Trout. Making many trips in with a good friend of mine, when we first started fishing Manastash Lake we would carry in a small raft to fish out of and slowly troll a night crawler. This lake is one of the first high lakes that you can fish, we have walked into the lake through three feet of snow and only a portion of the lake wasn’t covered with ice. Manastash Lake is a challenge to get to during early spring. You can access the lake from Ellensburg side going past Lost Lake or from the top of Manastash Ridge, this is how I have always walked into the lake.

When I turned 50 years old my good friend decided to give me a gift for an old fisherman. He took this old aluminum cane and added a reel, took the foot off and inserted a rod with eyes and made the rod so it would slide in and out without falling out. I was impressed on how well it worked. My birthday is in April just when we would usually start talking about fishing Manastash Lake. I thought what could be a better place than Manastash to try it out. The earliest we have ever made it in to Manastash Lake was April 25th, don’t expect to do that very often, most of the time it is the end of May or the first part of June.

The morning we decided to go fish Manastash Lake I showed up with my cane pole. Some of the guys probably thought I was a little crazy. I remember them saying something to that nature. Well crazy or not there wasn’t anything wrong with the cane pole. It was the first pole to catch a limit of Brook Trout. It also was a great help walking in and out of the lake. Its a prize pole and hangs on the wall with my best rods and reels. Tight Lines

  • Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin

    • I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility problems? A few of my blog audience have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any solutions to help fix this problem?

  • I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I came across this during my search for something relating to this.

  • each time i used to read smaller posts which as well clear their motive, and that
is also happening with this post which I am reading at this place.

  • Hi, always i used to check webpage posts here in the early hours in the morning, because
i like to find out more and more.

  • Really awesome article! Inspired me to trek into the lake myself! Sadly I didn’t catch a thing. Tried spinners but with no luck. Any pointers? I’ve caught brook trout once when I was in Boy Scouts over in the Olympics and I’ve always wanted to see their pretty patterns again.
